The Adentan Municipal office of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has presented relief items to victims affected by recent floods in the Koose Electoral Area. The short ceremony took place at the Koose Zonal Council Office, where the Adentan Municipal NADMO Director and his team handed over the items to the Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Gloria Adjetey Lomoh.
The relief items, which included food supplies, and other essential goods, were part of NADMO’s ongoing efforts to support residents whose homes and properties were destroyed by heavy rains in recent weeks.
In her remarks, Hon. Gloria Adjetey Lomoh expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the flood victims to the NADMO leadership and government officials who made the support possible. She extended appreciation to the NADMO Director-General, the Greater Accra Regional Director, the Adentan Municipal NADMO Director, the Member of Parliament for Adentan, and the Municipal Chief Executive for their swift intervention and commitment to alleviating the plight of the affected residents.
Hon. Lomoh emphasized that the items would bring much-needed relief to the victims as they work to rebuild their lives after the disaster. She also urged residents to remain vigilant and adhere to safety measures during the rainy season to reduce future risks.
The Adentan Municipal NADMO Director, Mr. Eric Kofi Padi reiterated the organization’s dedication to responding promptly to emergencies and ensuring that no affected household is left unsupported. He also called for community cooperation in maintaining clean drainage systems to prevent future flooding incidents.
The presentation event was attended by NADMO officials, community leaders, and some affected residents, who expressed their appreciation for the timely gesture.
The exercise forms part of NADMO’s broader mandate to provide emergency relief and coordinate disaster response efforts across the country.
